What does a realistic content strategy look like for a small business?

Most small businesses do not need a high-volume blog. They need a small number of pages that answer the questions real customers ask before they buy.

Start with the questions you already hear

Write down the questions customers ask you on the phone and in person. Each good question is a page: a clear answer that also demonstrates your expertise.

One page, one intent

Each page should target one clear thing a person searches for. Trying to cover five topics on one page helps none of them rank.

Answer the question in the first paragraph

State the answer plainly up front, then expand. This helps readers, search engines, and AI assistants that summarise your page.

Depth over frequency

A handful of thorough, genuinely useful pages beats a stream of thin posts. Update the good pages as things change rather than chasing a weekly quota.

Write for people first

Clear, honest writing that actually helps a reader is what earns links, shares, and citations. Writing stuffed with keywords for machines rarely does either.
